Fresh on the Scene. Meet "Romano" an 18 year old lad from France.

Gosh darn! I mean I remember how I used to look when I was 18 years old. I was fat, with big glasses, used to sit at the back of my class with a water bottle by my side, my teachers hated me coz I slept during lectures, my dad told me to go n play outside but I preferred staying at home eating and dreaming of a big life and I had no friends coz I wasn't cool enough. God was mean :(

and now look at Romano. 18 years old, already got noticed, excelling in his modeling career, well established, killer looks, wash board abs, piercing blue eyes and clear jaw lines. What more could a teenage boy ask for?

Sighhhhhh..... anyway... so this week I was in conversation with Romano Rossi a teenage model who is from Nantes, France but lives in Dijon.  Mind you Romano is not much of a talker. He just prefers his looks and pictures do all the talking and I guess they do it well for him ha!

So ladies and Gentle Ladies here is Romano.

(Hi Romano so tell us something about yourself?)

Well... you already know my name and where I come from and what I do....lol so other than that I am 18, a student of sales. I like body building and I love sports. I am an athletic person. Outdoors fascinate me.

(How long have you been modeling and what inspired you to take modeling as a career?)

It was not decided actually. I did my first modeling shoot this year in July. It was just by chance that I got noticed. The result of the shoot was so good that I started getting many offers and I kept doing them all. I wanted to become a model because I always wanted to get into the glam world. Also because I really liked the results of the shoots that I did. So I decided why not!

(How many brands have you worked with till now?)

Hahaha.. It's not even been six months. I am very fresh in this world so I am looking forward to work with some major brands. I am slowly getting there, You will definitely know about it once it's done. For time being I am just doing prints.

(What is your personal style statement?)

I love wearing stylish clothes. Not anything in particular but whatever makes me feel good. Mostly what fits me really really well. I can't categorize it for the moment. Comfort is my style.  With or without clothes , does not matter... lol as you can see I am shirtless in most of the pictures.  (wink)

(How do you maintain that killer body of yours?)

Well... as you know I love sports. So I play. I go to the gym everyday in the weekdays and on the weekends I go out running. Its healthy and keeps you in good shape.

(What does fashion mean to you?)

Fashion has always been the way I have expressed myself. It's how I deal with my mind and the thoughts. It's lifestyle. Some people want it and some don't.

(How do you feel about being a teenage model?)

Right now I do not think much. I am just taking one step at a time. Do not want to make any mistakes you see.

(Thank you so much Romano for talking with me. Wishing yo all the very best for your future. Hope you make it to Vogue magazine one day and may be able to walk for Tom Ford and Gucci etc.)

Aww.. thanks a lot. It was a pleasure indeed.

Trousseau Fashion Week 2013 Bangalore.

November has been quite a good month for me. I met a lot of new people, lot of new discoveries and few surprises. On the 21st of November I got an invite to attend one of India's most awaited Fashion shows- "Trousseau Week 2013".

Ahh... what a glitter filled evening that was. Spectacular. It was my first time attending a show like this. Thanks to Avirate for the invitation. Those who do not know about Avirate then click here.

Trousseau week is a UB City and Sublime Galleria initiative. It's a 10 days wedding fashion festival where wedding collection, wedding planners, stylists, pastry chefs, design consultants, bridal shoe vendors, travel planners and luxury wedding service providers, all come under one roof to provide you with variety of solutions for your wedding day. It is one of the most awaited events of the year which goes on from 21st of November till 1st of December.

This event was conceptualized and organised by Ms. Uzma Irfan- Executive Director Prestige Groups  and Founder, Sublime Galleria in 2010. In 2011, Trousseau week was awarded the "Biggest Fashion Event of the Year" by Deccan Chronicle.

The fashion show featured all the in-house brands of UB City like- Avirate, Kimaya, Turquoise & Gold, Shimmer, Corneliani, Hackett and Minawala and also Chola and AS Motiwala from Mumbai.

The models came from across the country and abroad to contribute to this extravagant event and the choreography was done by super model Marc Robinson.

The show started with Acrobats hangin off a freaking rope and hula hoop ...... trust me it was scary, I was getting the shakes and the excitement for all the wrong reasons. It was then followed by all the models gracefully escalating down the escalators. It was beautiful.

It went on from 7 pm till 9 pm. The best part of the whole evening was - Waiters serving free wine and snacks. For me it was like hitting a jack pot.

Glitz, Glamour and a little buzzzzz.... what more could a blogger ask for? (wink)

Now coming to what I wore to the show. Nothing extravagant but just something that I wanted to try from a very long time. I tried to modify my t-shirt to add a little dangerous kick to it. This shirt was originally done by a famous fashion blogger and designer Prince Pelayo Diaz from Madrid. Check out his blog here. I could not afford it so decided to do it myself. All you require is a cheap T-shirt and a box of safety pins and your done.

All the pictures have been taken by my dear friend Allen Raj. Check out his Flickr.

Say hello to Jeremy. My interview with a Denim Jeans Model.

So in my last post I was wearing a denim jump suit and in this post I am in a conversation with a Denim jeans model Jeremy Cormier. Oh yeah.....once again just a stroke of luck. I really enjoyed this interview with Jeremy not only because he is super talented, humble at heart, very interesting to talk to but also because we share some common interests. Sighhhhh... if only I was as good looking as he is... but as you know that God was a bit drunk the day he was makin me.... now I have to deal with the reality. One day I'm sure one day I will find out the purpose of my existence. Anyway... back to my blog.

So this week I had an awesome time interviewing Jeremy who is from Dieppe, New Brunswick. He is a total package, does runway, print, ads and commercials and he is a boy with brains ha (medical school n stuff) phewwww.....

So ladies and Gentlemen here is Jeremy-

(Would you like to tell us something about yourself Jeremy?)

After numerous years of University taking Sciences, a year of Medical School and a year of Dentistry School, I have decided to follow my dreams and pursue a career in the TV Industry. I am currently taking acting classes, voice classes as well as improvisation classes to help develop a good foundation for this. My long-term vision and goals are to work on hosting big shows and events on television as well as doing interviews; kind of like a Ryan Seacrest and/or Entertainment Tonight personnel. I'm a hard working individual who strives to be the best and have no doubt that I am capable of attaining these goals.

(What kind of modeling are you into? Do you also do ramp?)

The types of modeling that I have gotten the opportunity to do thus far are fashion and commercial modeling including runway, print and catalogue.

(Who are your favorite designers?)

My favorite designers include Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, John Galliano and Christian Lacroix. I feel like these are all legendary designers and each and every one of them have unique sense of style and character which is portrayed through their clothing.

(Oh yes indeed. I am happy that we share kinda have the same taste in designers. Who are your favorite male and female models?)

For this question, it is tough to just pick one model in each gender as there are several for each who are favorites and inspirational to me.
One of my favorite male models is Davis Gandy. When he started modeling, skinny models dominated the industry but his muscular build actually led to some designers to switch their standards to a more masculine look like his, something that we see more of in today's advertisement. Also, I feel like he is a very well rounded person and continues to demonstrate his great personality and supports the community in numerous ways including charity work.
One of my favorite female models is Daria Werbowy. She was a Canadian model that started off having trouble attaining international success with trouble finding work and then later, went on to earning herself millions of dollars. It's inspirational when you see someone become so successful that started off struggling because it gives you hope and shows everyone that anything is possible.

(If given a chance, would you consider working for Abercrombie and Fitch where you will have to shirtless most of the time?)

Most definitely. I actually enjoy being shirtless, it's just more comfortable when it's warm enough to be without a shirt. Anytime it would be considered appropriate to be shirtless, I'm probably the first person to take off my shirt; Beaches, hiking and in the comfort of my home are all places where you will find me shirtless most of the time.

(Your secret celebrity crush?)

Well if I told you my real celebrity crush then it wouldn't be much of a secret anymore aha. But, I will say that Ellen DeGeneres is someone that I look up to and feel is such an amazing and inspirational person and I definitely admire her, so I guess I could say I've got a little crush on her. Hopefully I will get to meet her someday soon.

(Last question.I am sure by now my readers would already be drooling over you so would you mind telling us if you are single or dating?)

At the moment, I am currently single. Of course I am interested in being in a relationship and I do go on dates here and there to get to know people but as of right now I'm not taken by anyone.

( hahaha... my readers will be so happy to know that. Thanks a lot Jeremy for interviewing with me. It was a pleasure talking to you.)

No problem, it was a pleasure speaking with you as well.
